With equipment from Linkx, it’s a wrap for Müller

Needing a new compact pallet wrapper for its repack hall at its Market Drayton site in Shropshire, Müller Dairy, one of the UK’s most successful suppliers of chilled yogurts and desserts, had no hesitation in placing an order with Linkx Systems, on the basis not only of the keen pricing offered, but also of the excellent levels of service and support the company has enjoyed and continues to enjoy from Linkx Systems in relation to other machines on the site.

The pallet wrapper supplied to Müller Dairy is a compact and cost-effective Siat by Linkx SW2L machine that has been customised to maximise commonality of parts with other similar machines already in use on the site. This simplifies maintenance as well as eliminating the need for additional spares to be purchased.

The new pallet wrapper is capable of handling CHEP and Euro pallets with a maximum height of 1.75 m at speeds of up to 20 cycles per hour. To meet Müller Dairy’s operational requirements, the machine includes a stretch system and automatic cut off and it has been supplied with a custom ramp that allows easy access by electric trucks as well as standard pallet trucks. The custom ramp has also been configured to give exceptionally smooth transfer of pallets to the turntable.

With a design that allows easy and unimpeded access, as well as total operational visibility, the new pallet wrapper is suitable for single and double wrapping, and provides a choice of four operator-selectable wrapping programs. It offers high accuracy and total repeatability combined with low running costs, and its maintenance requirements are minimal.
